This family of ancient Moravian origin settled in the Trentino area in the XV century. In October 1537, GIOVANNI, ANTONIO, and NICOLO’ DE ZINIS were made noblemen of the Tyrol by Cardinal Bernardo, the Bishop Prince of Trento. This concession was confirmed by Emperor Ferdinand on 30 September 1560 with their inscription in the list of Tyrolese noblemen.
Emperor Rudolph II, with his diploma issued 31 December 1584 in Prague, raised the brothers GIOVANNI, ANTONIO, PIETRO, and GIACOMO DE ZINIS to hereditary SRI cavalier nobility.

Villa Redaelli De Zinis in Calvagese Riviera has always belonged to the family of this name since it was built in the first years of the XVIII century by the nobleman Alessandro De Zinis, lawyer and jurist.
The building, a significant example of rural Lombard architecture and still magnificently furnished with antiques, was used mostly in the summer periods when it was the tradition for the patrician families to abandon the city and the heat to seek the cool tranquil air of the green and sunny slopes surrounding Lake Garda, the mythical Benacus.
