Calvagese della Riviera, Mocasina district; low hilly region (260m); cultivated in respect of the ecosystem, with voluntary thinning of the grapes in July (20%).Growing method: guyout and spurred string. Produced from following grapes: from grapes of the same name (100%), part of which (15%) are gathered late; Manufacturing: after the musts have fermented for 30/40 days at controlled temperatures to facilitate sedimentation, is kept to mature for at least 7 months in huge Slavonic oak barrels. Organoleptic Test: - Colour: Groppello has a bright ruby colour with purplish hues - Perfume: unmistakable bouquet of rose and violet with a slight hint of strawberry; when aged, a typical bitter almond aftertaste with a winy, soft-fruit background; - Taste: Round, not grassy, a decisive vigour with a silky sensation, tannic to the right degree; - Alcohol content: 12-12.5°. Gastronomy: - Qualified as: dry red, of elegant flavour, Velvety; - Accompanies: with pasta with any sauces, roast or grilled meats, Italian boiled meat, “noble” Poultry; - Serving temperature: 18-20°C; - Serving method of Groppello: uncork the bottle 15 minutes before serving. Number of bottles produced annually: • Groppello n. 150/160.000; Sold in either 8 or 12 bottle box packaging. |
